I just finished your book and I must say, it was a great read. I wish there was someway to promote Zimbabwean literature in New York. I will see if I can talk to some friends to circulate my only copy.

As an aspiring writer, I was inspired. I loved the fact that Onai's character bares a disturbing resemblence to so many Zimbabwean women that i know personally. Faiths character(and Emily's as well i suppose) represents a new woman that is starting to emerge. I stumbled across your book quite by accident but i'm very glad i bought it. Its a great read and i recommend to all African women, young or old, we can all relate.

Mainini Grace's Promise- is that the one about the girl who is caring for her terminally-ill mother and hoping her aunt will return from Botswana to help? I came accross it on a website and loved it. Brilliant work!!!

I loved the use of shona phrases partly because I understand the language and it somehow brought out a deeper expression that is sometimes lost when translated into English. I liked the fact that the phrase or saying would be repeated in English for those who might not understand it all.
